bard

This profession is a variant of the thief profession.

The bards are famous for their singing and are capable storytellers. From
time to time there is a bards contest and the one with the best story or song
is the Masterbard until the next contest. Due to a lack of bards in the
realms, all classes are invited to the contest and often other classes have
won the contest as no single bard participated.

Bards have learned a lot of clerical spells and although they miss the most
powerful spells of the clerics, the combination of assassinations and healing
makes bards deadly foes. Blessed by the godly power of the clerics, bards
usually prepare their foes carefully by blinding them or slowing them down.

Note that it is much easier to choke a blinded foe to sleep.
